Festival Fund
With this current funding round, Whanganui Creative Communities Scheme has opted to receive one-off additional funding from Creative New Zealand to support local community festivals.
To be eligible for this funding, applicants must demonstrate their festival:
- Aligns with the general eligibility criteria of Creative Communities Scheme (page 1 and 2 of application guide)
- Is ‘established’; meaning it has been delivered at least once in the previous five years. This includes digital presentations.
- Involves an integrated programme of events and activities featuring one or more artforms from any cultural tradition, that takes place within a defined area or region over a designated period of time.
Festivals can apply for operational, commissioning, development, and presentation costs. There is no maximum amount a single festival can apply for, but grants for Whanganui Creative Communities Scheme usually range between $500 and $4000.
A strong application will demonstrate how your festival:
- Celebrates the life experiences, stories, cultures of New Zealanders.
- Improves access, equity and arts participation.
- Provides opportunities for the development of a resilient and sustainable arts sector.
