Whanganui District Council maintains off-street car parks and a network of on-street meters and time-restricted areas that are monitored by parking officers.
The council has introduced ParkEasy MetroLite Touch parking meters that operate on a pay-by-plate parking system. The meters feature three payment methods – coins, tap-and-go (credit/debit card) and a QR code for smartphone use that connects to the ParkEasy payment portal. Download the user guide(PDF, 768KB)
