Apply for a Land Information Memorandum (LIM)

A Land Information Memorandum (LIM) will provide you with all the information held by Whanganui District Council about any specific site within the Whanganui District.

Deadlines for LIM (Land Information Memorandum) have changed for the 2025-2026 Christmas/New Year holiday period. 

If you need a Land Information Memorandum (LIM) report before the 2025-2026 Christmas/New Year holiday period, please ensure your completed application and payment reach us no later than 5.00pm on Tuesday, 9 December 2025

Applications made after Tuesday, 9 December may not be processed before we close for the holiday period at 12 noon on Wednesday, 24 December 2025The statutory 10-working-day processing timeframe for LIM applications will be suspended from 12 noon on Tuesday, 24 December until Friday, 9 January 2026 inclusive.

Step 1.Before you start

You will need to create a RealMe account to access the council’s online application form. This will allow you to log in to Online Services website where you can complete the application form. The LIM report will be emailed to you.

By law, the LIM must be processed within 10 working days from the time both the application and payment have been received. 

LIMs are not processed on “non-working days” including Saturday, Sunday and public holidays (Wellington Anniversary, Waitangi Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Day, Sovereign’s Birthday, Matariki, Labour Day and the period between 20 December and 10 January annually) in accordance with the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987

All data is securely held in council files, as well as electronically, and is made available for public viewing where allowable under the Privacy Act.
