This morning, at 9.04am, Whanganui Mayor Andrew Tripe lifted the State of Local Emergency for Whanganui District following heavy rain in the upper catchment over the early hours of Sunday.
If you haven’t enrolled yet, you’re on the unpublished roll, you’re voting papers are missing or damaged, or you missed the 1 August deadline to receive voting papers by mail, don’t stress – you can definitely still vote.
The only thing is, you’ll need to come into Whanganui District Council, 101 Guyton Street, during office hours (8.30am-5.00pm) in-person and chat with our customer service team.
This process is called a ‘special vote’ – it’s very straightforward and our team are happy to help you through the process.
We’ll also be running some pop-up events where you can enrol and vote on the spot – including our Up the Vote! event in Majestic Square on Saturday 27 September.
