Local Elections

Whanganui's local elections are held every three years and give you the chance to vote for the Mayor and local council.

Voting for Whanganui's 2025 local election closed at 12 noon, Saturday 11 October. Final results for this year's election have yet to be released (we expect to announce them on Friday 17 October). However, you can view the preliminary results below (which reflect all Ordinary Votes cast, but not Special Votes).
