The ParkMate smartphone app is available to use at all Whanganui District Council-operated car parks across Whanganui’s CBD, including on-street and off-street parking. Along with paying for parking, the app also helps you find available car park spaces.
All CBD parking meters display a QR code and site code to download and use the ParkMate app. It is free to download from the App Store or Google Play.
The ParkMate app complements the ParkEasy payment portal introduced when the council upgraded Whanganui’s parking meters in early 2022.
ParkMate charges a 50c fee for each parking transaction. This fee is set and collected by ParkMate and is not retained by Whanganui District Council.
