For the 2024/25 financial year (starting in July 2024) the council is continuing its rates remission (reduction) that was put in place for the 2023/24 year to assist households affected by a significant increase in rates as a result of the 2022 property revaluations.

The purpose of a council workshop, briefing or presentation is to prepare our mayor and councillors with the appropriate background information and knowledge they need in order to make informed decisions for the district.
Workshops are part of an educative phase of the council’s decision-making process and also provide an opportunity for discussion between elected members and council staff. Workshops cannot be used to make decisions - these can only be made at formal meetings.
Council workshops are generally open to the public, however from time-to-time workshops will be closed to the public.
