Here is some updated information about roading, parks and services following the April 4-6 rain event.

State Highway roading update

Local roading update

Whangaehu Valley Road – a temporary road has been constructed over damage to the existing road - open, but please drive with care

Kawhaiki Road - open, but we are continuing to clear silt at the end of the road

State Highway update

State Highway 4, from the Whanganui River Road/State Highway 4 intersection to Raetihi is open

All other roads in our district are open

We advise driver caution, particularly on rural roads

Parks

The following Whanganui District Council sportsgrounds are open: 

Wembley Park
Springvale Park
Spriggens Park
Lundon Park

Kowhai Park is open
