The New Zealand International Commercial Pilot Academy is pleased to announce two senior management appointments.

Gerard Glanville has been appointed Chief Executive. Gerard has an Executive MBA from Massey University, is a Whanganui resident and most recently held senior roles in Stryker, a supplier of medical equipment.

He has a background in aviation, having been a commercial pilot in both aeroplanes and helicopters for a time, and also has experience with startups and growing businesses.

“Gerard has terrific leadership and business strategy skills,” said NZICPA Chair David Rae. “He is exactly what we need to lead us through our growth and rebuilding phase.”

Ray Nelson has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Ray has been with NZICPA since it started and through that time he has developed a comprehensive knowledge of the company and its operations and has driven a positive culture.

“Ray has been our Chief Flying Instructor for the last four years and has been central to building the business we have today,” said Mr Rae.

“He is a talented and respected leader who has helped create the positive culture and training systems that underpin who we are as a company.”

Gerard Glanville and Ray Nelson will take up their roles on 19 April 2022.

The academy is also pleased to welcome 28 new international students who arrived in Whanganui recently and are ready to start their training.
