Springvale Park
Springvale Park is an 11-hectare complex, with multi-use amenities for cricket, rugby, Rippa Rugby, rugby league and touch rugby.
It includes the Splash Centre, operated by Whanganui District Council, which has lane swimming, a lazy river, spa pools, learners’ and toddlers’ pools, a sauna, two giant hydroslides and an indoor rowing and fitness centre.
Adjacent to the Splash Centre is the Springvale Bike Park, which has a learners’ track for young riders with miniature roads and signage. The bike park also has pump tracks for teen riders wanting more of a challenge.
There are two stadiums on the site, run by a trust. The stadiums host both sporting and non-sporting events such as indoor volley ball, badminton, basketball in line hockey and home shows. You can contact the trust manager on 06 345 2102.
The park is an off-leash dog exercise area at times when sports fields are not in use.
The grassed area at Springvale Park is regularly booked by circus acts.
Sport Whanganui's offices are also located at Springvale Park.
