For the 2023/24 financial year (starting in July 2023) the council is making a one-off rates remission (reduction) of up to $500 available for households facing a rates rise higher than $700.

Heavy rain is forecast for parts of the Wanganui District from 6.00pm Thursday (September 10) until midnight.
This will make driving conditions more dangerous on already slippery roads and could cause further slips. We urge anyone driving on Thursday night to take the utmost care.
Please be aware if you are driving on Friday morning that some rural roads may have had further slips overnight.
