Kerbside recycling From July 2024, we will be providing a new kerbside recycling service to all residential-rated households in the city – as well as households in Fordell, Mowhanau and Marybank
Urban rubbish collection We do not operate a kerbside rubbish collection service within the urban area – however, there are a number of privately owned and operated user-pays rubbish collection services
Rural rubbish collection We provide rubbish collection services in certain rural areas only where private providers do not operate
Waste Minimisation Fund Whanganui District Council can offer funding to assist communities and businesses to gain income to help address waste issues
Food scraps collection trial The council is running a kerbside food scraps collection trial with 400 households across different areas of Whanganui from February to May 2024
