Apply for rates remission

For the 2024/25 financial year (starting in July 2024) the council is continuing its rates remission (reduction) that was put in place for the 2023/24 year to assist households affected by a significant increase in rates as a result of the 2022 property revaluations.

Rural Directions 2020-2030

In 2008-2009 the Whanganui Rural Community Board held a series of meetings to identify the needs and priorities of the rural community. As a result, the board developed Rural Directions 2020, a 10-year plan for the board that covers the rural district and aligns with Whanganui District Council’s planning processes. Rural Directions 2020 was reviewed in 2013 when its name was changed to Rural Directions.
