Ross Fallen

Councillor

Cr Ross Fallen

I returned to New Zealand in 2014 and experienced the 2015 Whanganui flood firsthand. Since then, I’ve held leadership roles in key community organisations, including former National Secretary of Grey Power New Zealand, Chair of Artists Open Studios, Mainstreet, and the Ratepayers Association. My career spans senior teaching, hospitality training and small business ownership. As a councillor, I’ve represented the council on Safer Whanganui, the Rural Community Board, Tarapuruhi Bushy Park Trust and the Museum Electoral College, while holding the Accessibility and Disability portfolio.

I maintain an active social media presence, advocating for older persons’ housing and improved disability access. My priorities are keeping rates affordable, focusing on essential infrastructure such as roads and footpaths and developing a long-term sports and recreation plan for our growing tamariki and senior communities. I remain committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and well-connected Whanganui.
