Roading crews are making the most of the summer weather to work on road stabilisation, metalling and sealing repairs throughout the Whanganui District following June’s severe weather event.
There are currently 17 heavy machinery crews clearing slips and reforming roadside drainage around the roading network. Motorists are urged to consider safety of the crews and themselves when travelling through work zones, especially on the Whanganui River Road and Papaiti Road where there are crews working at various sites.
Heavy machinery crews are currently working on:
Road closures None at present.
2WD restrictions Caution needed due to slippery surface on Kauarapaoa Road.
Heavy truck and trailer restrictions Burrell Road – closed to heavy traffic with trailer (truck access only).
