Castlecliff Domain’s skate park and playground swings are getting a makeover in time for the end-of-year school holidays this summer.
Essential maintenance and repair work has already begun at the domain’s skate park and is expected to be finished by Friday, 29 November 2019.
Whanganui District Council Parks Officer, Erica Rowe, says work on the skate park involves major repairs to cracks in the skate bowl concrete. The skate park will remain closed until this work is complete.
Also swinging into action is a replacement double swing set in the domain’s playground, which includes the installation of safety matting around the swings.
This work was scheduled in the Council’s Castlecliff Coastal Reserve Management Plan 2018 and represents a significant upgrade to the existing swings. Work has started and the new swing set is due to be installed by Friday, 22 November 2019.
