Work will begin on Monday (November 30) to rebuild Archer’s Bridge at Mowhanau Beach.

The bridge was severely damaged during the severe weather event in June 2015.

Deputy Property Manager Leighton Toy said Emmetts Civil Construction has been awarded the contract to dismantle the existing structure, repair the damaged deck units and rebuild the bridge in its current location.

The access track from the parking area to the beach will be closed while construction is taking place.

While the reconstruction is not scheduled to be completed until the New Year, the contractor will ensure that the bridge can be used over the Christmas period.
