Nau mai haere mai ki te Tiaki Taonga o Whanganui. Join Whanganui Regional Museum to celebrate Seaweek (29 February-8 March 2020).
Admire the enormous sunfish, gaze at the awesome whale skeletons, investigate sea life, make a sea-creature mask and have fun discovering all kinds of sea-themed treasures with a Seaweek Museum Explorer. The Museum is presenting a week of sea-themed activities for kids along with a special lunchtime talk for the general public.
Seaweek – Kaupapa Moana is New Zealand’s annual national week celebrating the sea.
Coastal Streams Lunchtime Talk
Ko te kai ā te rangatira, he kōrero. Ever wondered what lives in all those little manga or streams you come across as you wander up the beach? Scotty Moore from Horizons Regional Council freshwater team will share his wealth of knowledge about native fish that inhabit coastal streams, including tuna (eels) and īnanga (whitebait).
