The 2025 Pattillo Whanganui Arts Review is the first to be presented in the newly redeveloped Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui, in the spacious new wing, Te Pātaka o Tā Te Atawhai Archie John Taiaroa. After a break during redevelopment, it’s a pleasure to welcome the 35th edition of this popular open-call exhibition back to Pukenamu Queen’s Park. Open to all artists living in the Whanganui region, it remains the longest-running exhibition of its kind in Aotearoa.
Thanks to the generous support of Anne Pattillo and her company, Pattillo. The winner of the Open Award also receives a solo exhibition at the Sarjeant Gallery and mentoring from the gallery team. Since 2019, Pattillo’s support has helped grow the profile and impact of the Arts Review — enhancing the exhibition, the awards, and the experience for local artists.
