I am a six-term councillor, now beginning my seventh term. Whanganui has been my home for fifty years. I have a business background and have owned retail stores throughout the North Island. I have held council portfolios in infrastructure, roading and waste management.
Rates affordability is my priority. I make this commitment to ratepayers: I will not vote for any rates increase this term that is above the rate of inflation. I will resist efforts to expand the council’s role, and I will continue to identify inefficiencies.
I am particularly interested in water and wastewater reform, port redevelopment and changes to the Resource Management Act. I will focus my extensive experience on gaining the best outcome for ratepayers.
I will retire at the end of this triennium, in October 2028. Until then, I am here for you – committed, innovative, accessible and independent.
