As we move into the winter season, our primary focus will be on drainage maintenance and improvements across the network.
Key activities include culvert cleaning, new culvert installations, water tabling, shoulder maintenance, and turfing. Several of these works are being undertaken in locations scheduled for resealing this financial year, helping to ensure the network is well prepared and setting us up for a strong start to the reseal season.
Project focus areas for the Whanganui Alliance include continuing emergency works across the network during July, with a particular focus on the Whanganui River Road.
We are initiating a significant push to upgrade our footpath network in numerous areas.
Following a successful leaf-fall season, reflected in a lower number of customer enquiries, crews are now transitioning their focus back to routine cyclic maintenance activities and addressing any outstanding maintenance requirements.
