Whanganui District Council is inviting residents to take part in this year’s Community Views Survey and share their perspectives on life in the district.

The independently run online survey is open now to all residents aged 16 and over. It provides an opportunity for people to give feedback on the overall quality of council services and facilities, as well as their views on wellbeing in Whanganui.

Strategy and policy manager David Gurney says the survey plays an important role in shaping council decision-making and future planning.

“We all interact with council facilities and services every day, whether we realise it or not – from the tap water we drink and the footpaths we walk on, to the library books we enjoy,” says Gurney. “The Community Views Survey helps us understand how residents feel about these services and identify opportunities for improvement.

“We want to hear from as wide a range of residents as possible, not just those who regularly interact with council. If you live in the Whanganui district, we encourage you to take part and share your views.”

Everyone who completes the survey will go in the draw to win one of three $100 grocery vouchers.

The survey is run by independent research company Versus Research on behalf of the council and takes around 10 minutes to complete online.

All respondents are anonymous, and no individual responses will be supplied to the council.

“Through this survey we find out how residents feel about the services, facilities and activities provided by the council. The results are an important part of identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting our strategic planning so make sure you get involved.”
