Following Cyclone Gabrielle, Mangamahu Road and SH4 between Raetihi and Upokongaro are the only roads still closed in the Whanganui district.

Take care when driving – roads reopened today may still have debris on them.

ROADING UPDATE

Roads reopened today:

  • Kauarapaoa Road
  • Creek Road
  • Te Rimu Road.

Roads still closed:

  • Mangamahu Road is still closed by a large slip (as it’s a loop road, people can get out at either end)
  • SH4 between Raetihi and Upokongaro is still closed.
