We’ve been advised that the Matarawa Stream in Wanganui East is rapidly on the rise, due to the heavy rain.

Residents in this area will need to be alert and are advised to move valuables, pets and property away from areas near stream. Our Civil Defence and Emergency Management team is monitoring the stream.

If there's a life threatening emergency, please call 111. If you are affected by floods or slips, call the Civil Defence Emergency Management team on 349 0001.
