Election nominations - Time is running out

Nominations for candidates for the Whanganui District Council, Wanganui Rural Community Board and Whanganui District Health Board close at 12.00 noon this Friday, August 12. 

Electoral Officer Noeline Moosman urges those who want to stand to get their nomination to her as soon as possible so they don’t miss out.

“The deadline is strictly midday on Friday, August 12. If anyone thinking of running for the Council, Community Board or Health Board wants to discuss the process, I am very happy to talk it through with them. They should contact me urgently as time is running out to submit nominations.”

Candidates must include a profile statement, photograph and a $200 fee when they submit their nomination. The only criteria are that a candidate must be a New Zealand citizen and on the electoral roll and must be nominated by two people who are on the electoral roll.
