Council meeting on wastewater plant postponed

Mayor Annette Main today said the Wanganui District Council has postponed a meeting which was planned for Tuesday regarding the wastewater treatment plant.

“We were scheduled to meet to consider the final reports on the design for the new wastewater treatment plant,” Mayor Main said.

“However some engineering reports came later than expected. The size of our investment in this project means time is needed to fully evaluate all information to ensure Council can make the decisions required to begin the rebuild of the plant.

“I am determined to ensure we get this right and if this means a delay in our decision-making then so be it.”

A revised meeting date has not yet been confirmed.
