Under Section 11A of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1974, Whanganui District Council intends to close the following roads for the annual Cemetery Circuit motorcycle road race.
- Taupo Quay from The Warehouse Building to Pacific Place
- Heads Road from Taupo Quay to Sarjeant Street
- Sarjeant Street from Guyton Street to the Hatrick Raceway Entrance
- Guyton Street from Heads Road to Hatrick Street West
- Ridgway Street from Guyton Street to Trafalgar Place
- Hatrick Street East from Maria Place to Ridgway Street
- Wilson Street from Maria Place to Taupo Quay
- The Mountain to Sea Shared Pathway adjacent to the Whanganui River from the Cobham Bridge to Integrity Motors
Period of intended closures:
Boxing Day - Saturday, 26 December 2026
4.00am to 11.00pm
During the intended closures, directional signs will be in place to show the alternative routes.
