The Whanganui Alliance* will be removing a tree and carrying out street infrastructure works outside 54 Oakland Avenue. Work is planned to begin at 7.30am on Monday, 8 June. Work hours will be 7.30am-5.00pm, with an expected completion date of Tuesday, 16 June, weather dependent.
The treeis interfering with other infrastructure assets, including the drainage catchpit. Its roots have also damaged the footpath, making it unsafe for pedestrians. Removal was considered the best option in this case.
Planned works will include:
- Tree removal
- Removal of a redundant vehicle crossing
- Reinstatement of the berm, kerb and channel
- Sump relocation
- Street light relocation
- Dismantling a vehicle crossing from kerb to boundary and reinstating.
Due to the type of work and machinery required, there may be some noise. We will do our best to keep disruption to a minimum.
Traffic management will be in place, with a priority give-way in operation. Property access may be affected at times, and a site crew will guide residents entering and exiting their properties.
If you have any concerns, please call us on 06 349 2510 between 8.00am and 5.00pm.
