The primary focus of the Whanganui Alliance remains the completion of emergency works following the February event. We are on track to have all slips cleared by the end of this month.
Additionally, we have engaged Emmetts to begin work on the Somme Parade underslip at the end of May; this project will continue through July. Behind the scenes, we are finalizing plans for the Whangaehu Valley Road underslip, which we aim to commence in the next Financial Year.
Project Focus Areas: This month, emergency works will continue across the network with a specific focus on:
- Parihauhau Road
- Whanganui River Road
Footpaths and Cyclic Maintenance:
- We are initiating a significant push to upgrade our footpath network.
- Leaf season maintenance is progressing well and remains a priority.
