Council is reviewing the Streets Infrastructure Bylaw 2015. While Council is not proposing any changes to the rules related to Council’s street infrastructure network and public places, Council is proposing changes to improve the clarity of the drafting of the bylaw.

Council is required to review a bylaw within five years of the date on which it was made.

Council has reviewed the Streets Infrastructure Bylaw 2015 and is proposing to retain the existing bylaw with changes to the drafting to improve its clarity and usability.  

The proposed changes to the drafting of the bylaw include:

  • redrafting the bylaw to follow the Parliamentary Counsel Office Drafting Manual
  • updating the purpose section to the bylaw; and
  • setting out assessment criteria Council uses when considering approvals.   

Council is not proposing any changes to the rules relating to Council’s street infrastructure network and public places.
