Our roading crews, tree contractors and parks team are still out and about.
We appreciate your words of thanks and will pass these on to the teams who are on the ground. If you're out and about this weekend, stay safe and keep an eye on the weather conditions if you're visiting parks and reserves.
KEEPING SAFE

Please drive with caution this weekend. Essential travel only in rural areas - the network is fragile and the ground is saturated. Slips can come down without warning.

NO rubberneckers please - you're not only putting yourself at risk but also our crews dealing with the clean-up.

There's a lot of debris on berms etc in the urban area. PLEASE be patient as we prioritise the areas that need clearing - it may take a wee while to get to you.

If you have any concerns or questions, give us a call on 349 0001. This number is monitored 24/7.
ROADING
Last night, only two rural roads in our network remained closed. We'll update you when we know more.
PARKS
Because of significant tree fall and other debris, the following parks remain CLOSED:

Williams Domain

Lake Wiritoa
For safety reasons, please stay out of these areas for now.

Waitahinga Trails has not been assessed by the council or our contractors so the state of the site is unknown until further notice. Please exercise extreme caution if visiting.

Rotokawau Virginia Lake is OPEN but some areas are cordoned off while work is underway. Please take care when visiting the lake.
