The Whanganui Regional Museum Trust (WRMT) is calling on the community to have their say as part of a major review of the museum’s constitution, governance and operational arrangements.

A review panel has been convened to develop recommendations. Its brief includes:

• Reviewing the Museum’s constitution and the structure of its governing body
• Considering the potential transfer of Museum staff and day-to-day operations to Whanganui District Council while the Trust retains ownership and governance of the collection and taonga.
• Consulting with iwi, key stakeholders, museum supporters and the wider community on these proposed changes.

Public Input Invited
The Review Panel is encouraging feedback from anyone with an interest in these issues. Responses can be provided by completing the online consultation questionnaire, available on the museum’s website: wrm.org.nz under ‘News’.

We encourage people to share their views as soon as possible. The Review Panel will be reviewing submissions regularly, and your feedback is vital to informing its work and shaping meaningful recommendations.
