Local roads update

A number of local roads have reopened but extreme caution is required due to flooding and slips.

As at 1.00pm Wednesday, October 16, the following local roads are affected by flooding and/or slips:

Mangamahu to Fields Track – closed indefinitely

Creek Road (closed mid-point), Rangiora Road, Kainui Road, Mangawhero Road - cannot be accessed

SH4 – now passable but caution required

Fields Track – closed until Thursday (major dropout)

Makirikiri Valley Road – closed

Papaiti Road – closed until Thursday (opposite Horrocks Park)

Kaiwhaiki Road - closed until Thursday (flooding in Horrocks Park area)

Whanganui River Road – closed from Shellrock Bluff

Kauarapaoa Road - closed at bottom end

Junction Road and Ahu Ahu – closed

Whangaehu Bridge – open to all traffic, single lane only
