Council appoints Kym Fell as new Chief Executive

Kym Fell has been named as the new Chief Executive of Wanganui District Council.
Mayor Annette Main said the Council was delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Fell who will begin his new role on January 11 after the Christmas/New Year break.
“Kym brings considerable experience in strategic and operational leadership, coupled with strong management skills, and expertise in building organisational capability and realigning business processes.
“Kym will be relocating to Whanganui from Auckland with his family where for the last four years he has been with Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA) and is currently Director Corporate.
“As Director Corporate Kym has responsibility for overseeing RFA’s People & Culture, Information Communication Technology, Facilities Management and Property Services, Risk & Assurance and shared Legal Services.
“He is a member of RFA’s executive leadership team and has led significant teams with budget responsibility of over $85-million.
“Kym has led transformational change in both the private and public sectors, has a real strength in strategic business planning and execution and has experience in working with different governance structures.
“We look forward to welcoming Kym and his family to our district and to the Council team.
“He will be replacing current Chief Executive Kevin Ross who has held the role of CE for the past seven years following a career with our Council which has spanned 35 years.”
