Holiday opening hours for council services and facilities 2025/2026

Council customer services at 101 Guyton Street is closed from 12 noon on Wednesday, 24 December until 8.30am on Monday, 5 January 2026.
You can still contact us at any time on 06 349 0001. This number is monitored 24/7.
Our email yourcouncil@whanganui.govt.nz will not be monitored until we reopen on Monday, 5 January. See you in 2026!

This week's Community Link(PDF, 2MB) includes a call for public submissions on the council's Long-Term Plan 2021-2031 (great work this past weekend by the Youth Committee in gathering submissions!), a special performance of The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace at the Royal Wanganui Opera House on Anzac Day this Sunday (25 April), notice of a family harm prevention expo supported by the council and Safer Whanganui that’s being held in the UCOL Atrium next week and the return next month (15 May) of the council's Hazardous Household Waste Day.
