Splash Centre gym and fitness offers a variety of classes from circuits to lunch time classes, we offer inductions and have in water aquarobic and Floatfit classes. We have three qualified personal trainers and an aquarobics instructor who will be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have.

You can find our live class availability and schedule on the customer portal here. Please note, whilst classes are in operation they take priority on the gym floor.

Our party space is the perfect venue for birthday celebrations and special occasions. Enjoy a fun-filled day with access to our pool facilities. Our party room offers a convenient and private space for your guests to relax, eat, and celebrate.

The party space is on the mezzanine floor on the recreational side of the facility. If you have any accessibility issues, we have alternative space in the main pool side of the facility. Please enquire for this space via email.

Bookings can be made online via our customer portal or in person.

Bookings are a minimum of 2 hours however you can book up to two slots back-to-back. When two spots are booked the 30 minutes break in middle will be removed from the end of the booking (e.g. slots 9.00am - 11.00am and 11.30am - 1.30am booked would be a 9.00am - 1.00pm booking).

To book two slots online, select the first slot, then select ‘continue’, then ‘book more’, select the second slot, followed by the ‘add to booking’ button, agree to terms and conditions and ‘add to cart’, and ‘continue to payment’.

Estimated group size must be included. The maximum number for party space is 25 people. You can book up to 6 weeks in advance.

Reserved bookings made over the phone/email are held for 1 working day only. Reserved bookings must be paid in person. To reserve bookings we require name, date, time and contact information.

Children under 8 must be actively supervised by a caregiver over the age of 17 – active supervision means watching your child at all times and ready to offer assistance if needed.

Make a splash with our Learn to Swim programme! The fun and engaging learn to swim classes are led by friendly instructors whose aim is to teach the valuable life skill of swimming through a positive and fun approach. From first-time paddlers to little ones refining their strokes, we provide a safe and supportive environment for every child to learn and grow.

Enrol in Learn to Swim

Learn to swim enrolment (new students)

Enrolment for new Aquatot students is at the end of each term and does not require assessment prior to enrolment. If we have availability in Aquatots classes these can be joined at any point throughout the term. Pre School assessments are required for new students.  

Learn to swim enrolment (existing students)

Roll over enrolments will be done in person the week prior to online bookings opening – these are for students who are assessed and are staying in the same class at same time. The places will be held until Sunday, 7 April. 

Please note: enrolments open at the end of the term once assessments have taken place. Enrolments are confirmed by the Learn to Swim team. Any students enrolled into the wrong level will have to re-enrol into the correct level. You will receive a ‘next level slip’ indicating which level to select. We can also take enrolments in person or over the phone.

Enrolments are not confirmed until payment has been made either upfront or direct debit (download a direct debit form in the related information section at the bottom of this page), this can be done at reception or in the online portal – you risk losing your spot if this is not done and held spaces will have a finite period. Bank transfer is not accepted for payment unless arrangement has been pre-agreed. If an external provider pays for Learn to Swim lessons, please email splashcentre@splashcentre.co.nz to confirm this process. Holiday programmes are upfront payments only.

Personal bookings must be paid upfront. Booking enquiries will be confirmed with a booking confirmation letter on acceptance.

The Splash Centre is located in Springvale Park, 220 London Street, Whanganui.

The original Splash Centre facility officially opened on 14 March 1989. This facility boasts a competitive 25m pool and at the time a Learn to Swim Pool (now the hydrotherapy pool).

In 2004, to provide customers with the equipment for cardiovascular workout, the ‘Splash Deck’ which is located upstairs in the original facility was added to the wider Splash experience.

On 18 April 2008, the Splash Centre Extension was officially opened! This added a 25m training pool, a learn to swim pool, lazy river, toddlers pool, spas, hydroslides, a sauna and steam room, along with family changing rooms.
