Pay Your Rates

Whanganui District Council rates are payable in four equal instalments.

The 2021/22 due dates are:

Instalment Due date 
Instalment 1 Wednesday, 25 August 2021
Instalment 2 Wednesday, 24 November 2021
Instalment 3 Wednesday, 23 February 2022

Instalment 4

A discount of 2.5% will be allowed on all net 2021/22 rates paid in full by Wednesday, 25 August 2021.

The easiest way to pay rates is throughout the year, so rates payments come out of your bank account straight after your income goes in. Payments can be set up to be fortnightly or weekly, to align with your income.

You will need your email address as well as your property and notice numbers, which can be found on your rates invoice.

Direct Debit

We can set up direct debits on a weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or yearly basis.

Cash or EFTPOS

Visit us at 101 Guyton Street, Monday to Friday, 8.30am–5.00pm. Please bring your rates invoice with you.

Cash, EFTPOS or credit card (not AMEX) are accepted.
