Mark your calendars – Lights on Bikes is returning Friday, 25 June with more amazing light installations, performances and of course our popular bicycle parade, so gather your lights, decorate your wheels and yourselves and be a part of the brightest parade in town.
Bicycles, scooters, roller skates, wheelchairs, skateboards, prams, unicycles and many more wheeled contraptions are welcome.
This year we have a special twist to make your night even more memorable! We’re working with the council’s Whanganui Town Centre Regeneration team to combine Lights on Bikes with an amazing street party for the new Drews Ave streetscape.
There will be food trucks, live music, face painting and more to enjoy while you explore the clever and creative changes being trialled through central government’s Innovating Streets fund to boost Drews Avenue’s status as the hub of Whanganui’s creative community.
This is a free, all ages event. Get your friends and family together for a night of illumination and fun.
Please note: If the weather is unsuitable on Friday, 25 June, the event will be held on Saturday, 26 June.
The Lights on Bikes parade will follow a loop from Drews Avenue while the Drews street party will take place in Drews Avenue
