Pound pooches for adoption are posted on the Council's Adopt A Dog page.
To adopt a pound pooch, you must be over 16-years-old, have an adequately fenced property to contain the dog and be able to pay adoption costs.
The dog pound is located in Ridgway Street. It is open Monday to Friday between 12.00pm to 1.30pm, or by prior arrangement. If the Pound Pooch is not suitable it may be returned for a refund. Microchipping is non-refundable. All pooches must be de-sexed before they are collected from the pound.
In some cases, one of our team will need to do a property inspection to make sure your place is appropriate for a new pooch.
