UPDATE: Monday, 2 September 2024
The Millward Street/Nixon Street intersection will be fully closed to all through traffic from 7.00am on Wednesday, 4 September to 5.00pm on Wednesday, 18 September 2024. Detours will be in place during the work and access for residents will remain for properties either side of the intersection.
A section of Millward Street that includes the intersection of Nixon Street and continues to Jones Street will be closed to all through-traffic from 7.00am on Monday, 26 August until 5.00pm on Friday, 27 September 2024 for the installation of stormwater infrastructure by Whanganui District Council contractors.
Resident information:
- Nixon Street will operate under a priority give-way set up past the worksite
- Millward Street residents numbered 4 to 20 and 3 to 15 will be able to access their properties from both Nixon Street and Jones Street but will only be able to exit from Jones Street
- Millward Street residents numbered 17, 17a, 17b, 19, 20a, 21 or 22 will only be able to enter and exit via Marshall Avenue or Nile Street.
