Under Section 11A of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1974, Whanganui District Council intends to close the following roads for Wanganui Car Club sealed hill climb motorsport events:
- Western Line
- 9.00am-5.00pm, Saturday, 22 November 2025
- (from the railway crossing near 100 Western Line finishing between 311 and 351 Western Line – approx. 2.4 kilometres)
- Brunswick Road
- 9.00am-5.00pm, Sunday, 23 November 2025
- (from 307 Brunswick Road finishing at the intersection of Brunswick and Blueskin Roads – approx. 3.5 kilometres)
During the intended closures, the Wanganui Car Club will allow controlled access.
Any person who wishes to comment on the intended closures must lodge their comments in writing by 5.00pm on Saturday, 17 May 2025 to Melanie Francis, Customer Support Team Leader, at Council Customer Services, 101 Guyton Street, Whanganui or by email.
