COVID-19: Whanganui Regional Museum

Whanganui Regional Museum will reopen to visitors on Monday 18 May, with a limit of 100 people allowed into the building at any one time. Hours are 10.00am to 4.30pm every day and entry is free.  

Museum staff have implemented stringent hygiene measures, such as frequent hand-washing and regular disinfecting of surfaces, to operate safely under Alert Level 2.

Visitors must be in groups of 10 or less and keep one metre away from other groups or individuals. On arrival, visitors will need to sign in to fulfil contact tracing requirements. 

Hand sanitising stations will be located at reception. The Museum galleries, shop, lift, stairs and toilets will be open to visitors. 

Collection stores and research rooms will be closed to researchers until further notice. Some distance archives research services will be available. Please email the Archivist on sandib@wrm.org.nz.
