Apply for a Land Information Memorandum (LIM)

A Land Information Memorandum (LIM) will provide you with all the information held by the Whanganui District Council about any specific site within the Whanganui District.

LIM application deadline - 2021-22 holiday period

If you require a Land Information Memorandum (LIM) report before the 2021-22 Christmas / New Year holiday period, your completed application form and payment must reach Whanganui District Council no later than 5.00pm on Friday, 10 December 2021.

Applications made after Friday, 10 December 2021 may not be processed before the council closes for the holiday period at 12 noon on Friday, 24 December 2021.  

The statutory 10-working day processing timeframe for LIM applications will be suspended from 12 noon on Friday, 24 December 2021 until Thursday, 13 January 2022 inclusive.

The council will re-open at 8.30am on Wednesday, 5 January 2022.

We suggest that you apply for a Land Information Memorandum from the Council before you invest in a new property. You can apply online or download an application form(PDF, 301KB).

Step 1.Before you start

You will need to create a RealMe account to access the Council’s online application form. This will allow you to log in to Online Services website where you can complete the application form. The LIM report will be emailed to you.

Bring your completed application form to Council Customer Services at 101 Guyton Street, Monday to Friday, 8.30am–5.00pm.

By law, the LIM must be processed within 10 working days from the time both the application and payment have been received. 

All data is securely held in Council files, as well as electronically, and is made available for public viewing where allowable under the Privacy Act.
