There are loads of things six hundy could help you out with, from a kapa haka championship to making music, to volunteering overseas to support those less fortunate.

$600ships are available to 12 to 24-year-old Whanganui youth to help reach their potential in an area of interest or personal development.

Youth Committee Co-Chair Jack Southee says the $600ship programme is one way the Youth Committee supports young people in Whanganui to achieve what they are passionate about.

“We can’t choose everyone for the funding, but we encourage people to apply as we want to support a diverse range of activities.

“We’ve seen some awesome applications since 2014 when the $600ships were first available. There are so many young people who are passionate about and talented at what they do. Any support we can give our peers to help them with their dreams is a cool way to promote the important contribution they make to Whanganui.”

To be eligible, applicants must have demonstrated some form of commitment to their chosen area and have tried to raise their own funds.
